Author: Matt Larson

With my first book, 4000s by 40, released this fall, I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing, and am excited to continue the journey of storytelling with future projects—so much so that the day after I published 4000s by 40, I began my next work. Much of my inspiration comes from nature. My early love for the ocean, found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, has transitioned into a deep passion for the mountains here in New Hampshire, and I wanted to share that with my first book. If you’d like to connect or have any inquiries, you can reach out to me at [email protected]. I’m also on Instagram and Facebook at wanderingmatt8. Happy reading!

Patching in for the Belknap Range

Posted on October 9, 2025October 9, 2025

This week, I patched in to become a part of the group of hikers who have completed the Belknap 12 summits. The Belknap Range is a set of peaks located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, and they offer you a great opportunity to take in the beauty of the surrounding area—especially Lake Winnipesaukee….

Mountain Disagreements

Posted on October 8, 2025October 8, 2025

I recently met a fellow hiker who shared my enthusiasm for the 4000-footers, but we had a difference of opinion on two of them. Namely, Adams and Jefferson. He expressed a little disenchantment with Adams, whereas I’ve always enjoyed it. I like it whether I’m summiting or if I’m just planning to wrap my way…
