Author: Matt Larson

With my first book, 4000s by 40, released this fall, I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing, and am excited to continue the journey of storytelling with future projects—so much so that the day after I published 4000s by 40, I began my next work. Much of my inspiration comes from nature. My early love for the ocean, found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, has transitioned into a deep passion for the mountains here in New Hampshire, and I wanted to share that with my first book. If you’d like to connect or have any inquiries, you can reach out to me at [email protected]. I’m also on Instagram and Facebook at wanderingmatt8. Happy reading!

It turns out the other Native Americans living nearby didn’t enjoy Joe’s friendship with the white settlers in the…

Minding My Exercise

Posted on October 4, 2025October 4, 2025

Much has been made about the benefits of keeping a journal—of writing down your thoughts and being mindful of your circumstances. It helps you with gratitude, being present in your experiences, and determining where you’re heading next. I do it for drafting new ideas but also as a way to reflect on the positives of…

Scouting Little Monadnock

Posted on October 3, 2025October 3, 2025

That’s right, “Little” Monadnock. Not to be confused with its big brother lying to the northeast. I heard about this mountain for the first time when I started searching for some of the other Monadnocks in New Hampshire, and I always wondered about it. Everybody who hikes mountains knows about Monadnock Mountain, and hikers in…
