Author: Matt Larson

With my first book, 4000s by 40, released this fall, I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing, and am excited to continue the journey of storytelling with future projects—so much so that the day after I published 4000s by 40, I began my next work. Much of my inspiration comes from nature. My early love for the ocean, found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, has transitioned into a deep passion for the mountains here in New Hampshire, and I wanted to share that with my first book. If you’d like to connect or have any inquiries, you can reach out to me at [email protected]. I’m also on Instagram and Facebook at wanderingmatt8. Happy reading!

Before the internet, riding your bike around town, you thought the wildest stuff that went down was in the woods…

Naming the Battle: A Love vs. Hate List for Writing

Posted on February 20, 2026February 20, 2026

I read a good idea from an author on Writer’s Digest the other day. I get daily emails from them, which admittedly, I don’t usually read; there’s simply not enough time in the day. Sometimes I’ll take a minute to scan the latest email, look at the headlines, and nine times out of ten I…

Always Worth Another Look: Artist’s Bluff

Posted on February 19, 2026February 19, 2026

Yesterday I was over at Cannon Mountain (well, technically Mittersill Alpine Ski Resort) to watch the “Meet of Champions,” where high school ski racers from every division in New Hampshire competed. We had an uncharacteristically beautiful sunny day to spectate, and the racers all loved the conditions. But before the racing began, I had an…
