Author: Matt Larson

With my first book, 4000s by 40, released this fall, I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing, and am excited to continue the journey of storytelling with future projects—so much so that the day after I published 4000s by 40, I began my next work. Much of my inspiration comes from nature. My early love for the ocean, found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, has transitioned into a deep passion for the mountains here in New Hampshire, and I wanted to share that with my first book. If you’d like to connect or have any inquiries, you can reach out to me at [email protected]. I’m also on Instagram and Facebook at wanderingmatt8. Happy reading!

Fix Windshield Wiper

Existential Windshield Wipers

Sometimes these learnings are driven by curiosity, and sometimes they are presented to me as an opportunity. Like this morning, when the rubber on one of my windshield wipers frayed…

Memoirs by Men

Memoirs by Men: Not Much Demand

Posted on June 2, 2025June 6, 2025

When I first started sending copies of my memoir to agents, I received a lot of positive feedback, but there was a consistent message coming back to me. The start of the conversation usually went something like this: “we like your writing, but, you’re a man writing a memoir. That’s the least popular type of…

The Only Way to is Through

The Only Way to Is Through

Posted on June 1, 2025June 6, 2025

It came unexpectedly,
when there was no danger in sight,
and shook every fiber of being
that long and frightful night.

No explanation, no comfort came
in the days and years ahead,
but you continued all the same,
plodding on when you could have fled.
