Author: Matt Larson

With my first book, 4000s by 40, released this fall, I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing, and am excited to continue the journey of storytelling with future projects—so much so that the day after I published 4000s by 40, I began my next work. Much of my inspiration comes from nature. My early love for the ocean, found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, has transitioned into a deep passion for the mountains here in New Hampshire, and I wanted to share that with my first book. If you’d like to connect or have any inquiries, you can reach out to me at [email protected]. I’m also on Instagram and Facebook at wanderingmatt8. Happy reading!

Posted on January 2, 2020July 26, 2025

Ah, the new year. A fresh start. A chance to right all of yesteryear’s wrongs. To go forth and bring about change. To conquer and progress as an individual. To make resolutions and hopefully, this time, stick to them. To be kinder. Wiser. A better listener and a better friend. But mostly, it’s an opportunity…

Why Climb Mountains?

Posted on December 19, 2019July 26, 2025

Why suffer the weight on my back, still bent on standing on the highest point of the mountain, conquering it, though neither man nor beast would be present to bear witness to my accomplishment? I’ve heard many climbers answer this question with the classic response, “because it…
