You've noticed it, haven't you? The lakes that no longer freeze? The January rains? Has it caused your mind to flinch and consider the possibility of different climates? Of warmer winters? It's hard to discard this sensation as a seasonal whim, and perhaps doing so would be of stoic but cowardly design. For if I can ignore it and let it pass, absently upon my mind, then should I not expect to pass absently upon the earth?
