Discovering Surprises on Middle Sister

Posted on December 13, 2025December 14, 2025

Yesterday I got the chance to climb Middle Sister, one of New Hampshire’s 52 With a View mountains, on what turned out to be a cold and blustery day. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt the need to bring a face mask and goggles on a climb, and I was very glad I…

All Alone on Smarts Mountain

Posted on October 21, 2025October 21, 2025

believing that way out here
must be too far out of range.

But he took my Andrew Jackson
and ambled to the gate,
returning a fiver
after a short wait.
