The How

You've got your reasons, everyone does.
That's not the story.
Though we read book after book
telling us that if it were not for the reasons,
the hero would never make it.
But two people can drum up the same why,
feel the same why,
the same way,
and end at different stops along the same line.

The separation comes from knowing
that your body is not the sum of your parts,
but a part of your sum,
and there are cards left to play
that weren't on the table.
And when you do see yourself, standing apart,
perhaps you find
there is a way
to push past the walls that confine you.
